Oven Roasted Brussels Sprouts

If your family turns up their noses at Brussels sprouts, win them over with this recipe. Roasting the sprouts mellows their earthy flavour - they taste like a different vegetable! Season with lemon zest and everything bagel seasoning if you like.

Oven Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredients
4 cups / 1 litre Brussels sprouts, ends trimmed and halved
1.5 tbsp / 22 ml olive oil
0.5 tsp / 2 ml coarse sea salt
freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Directions

Preheat oven to 400˚F (200˚C).

In a bowl, toss Brussels sprouts with oil, salt and pepper.

Transfer to a baking sheet. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until Brussels sprouts are golden brown and tender when pierced with a fork.

Serves 4.

Tip: Cooking time will depend on the size of the sprouts, so keep an eye on them. They're done when they can be easily pierced with a fork and start to get brown and crispy around the edges.
