Coke to introduce mid-carb soda in U.S., Japan

Coca Cola Co. is introducing Coca-Cola C2, a carbonated soft drink containing half the carbohydrates, sugars, and calories of regular colas. The company, which is looking to piggyback on the popularity of low-carb diets, will release Coca-Cola C2 in Japan first and then bring it to the United States this summer. The announcement follows a similar move by rival PepsiCo Inc., whose low-carbohydrate Pepsi Edge hits stores this summer.
