Canada's Guide to Healthy Eating and Physical Activity

Health Canada has released a new combination food guide/physical activity guide - the Guide to Healthy Eating and Physical Activity . The guide is intended to promote overall healthy living while reducing the risk of developing diseases related to poor eating habits, inactivity and unhealthy body weights. It is not intended to replace the current Canada Food Guide to Healthy Eating and Canada's Physical Activity Guide to Healthy Active Living. Instead, it incorporates important points from both Guides into one updated document, which promotes the benefits of eating well and being active, to help Canadians make wise choices everyday.

The new guide can be found at the Public Health Agency of Canada's website: www.phac-aspc.gc.ca/guide . Here, you can take a guided tour and find information on how to obtain a hard copy of the guide. As well, there are a variety of animated and flash media activities, including animated healthy living tips, an interactive children's colouring section, e-cards with healthy living tips and trivia.
