Nutrition savvy health reporters

Congratulations to Laura DiBattista of City TV! Ms. DiBattista was found to be the most nutritionally in-the-know at the Heart and Stroke Foundation's first-ever Supermarket Challenge. The challenge dared prominent Canadian television health reporters to shop for food items in a grocery store time trial. Each was accompanied by Jim Watson, Minister of Health Promotion, and each had their shopping basket graded by a dietitian from the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

Congratulations to Ms. DiBattista and her competitors, Monica Matys of CTV and Christine Crosby of Global TV; their scores were equal, but Laura DiBattista was the quickest to pick out the healthy items.

To help you navigate the supermarket, look for the Health Check symbol on food packaging. heartandstroke.ca
