Basic Kasha Burgers

Add your favourite toppings to these flavourful whole grain "burgers".

Basic Kasha Burgers


Quantity Ingredients
1 cup kasha
2 cups water
1 onion, chopped
3-4 eggs
bread crumbs
salt and pepper, to taste


Bring water to boil in medium pot. Add kasha and onion and cook 10-12 minutes until all water is absorbed.

Remove from heat. Add eggs and bread crumbs to achieve firm consistency. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Form patties and fry in a lightly oiled nonstick pan until brown on both sides. Serve on bed of lettuce with tomato or in whole grain pita pocket.
