Blueberry Raspberry Smoothie

It's the time of year to enjoy fresh in-season berries and this smoothie recipe serves up plenty of protein, fibre, antioxidants, vitamin C and calcium. Frozen berries work equally well. For a priobiotic boost, use kefir instead of yogurt.

Blueberry Raspberry Smoothie

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredients
1/2 cup / 125 ml blueberries, fresh or frozen
1/2 cup / 125 ml raspberries, fresh or frozen
1/2 cup / 125 ml plain yogurt (1% MF or less) or unflavoured kefir
1/2 cup / 125 ml milk (1% or skim) or unsweetened soy milk
1/2 cup / 125 ml 100% pure orange juice
1/2 tsp / 2 ml grated fresh ginger root, or to taste

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a blender and purée until smooth. Serve cold.

Serves 2.
