|4 cups / 1 litre||large-flake oats|
|1/4 cup / 50 ml||slivered almonds|
|1/4 cup / 50 ml||sunflower seeds|
|1/2 cup / 125 ml||unsweetened applesauce|
|1/3 cup / 75 ml||honey|
|2 tsp / 10 ml||cinnamon|
|2 tsp / 10 ml||canola oil|
|1/2 tsp / 2 ml||ground ginger|
|1 cup / 250 ml||dried apples, chopped|
|1/2 cup / 125 ml||dried cranberries or cherries|
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine oats, almonds and sunflower seeds.
In a separate bowl combine applesauce, honey, cinnamon, oil and ginger. Pour over oat mixture and mix well, until coated evenly.
Evenly spread mixture on a baking sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Gently shake pan; bake an additional 5 to 10 minutes or until dry.
When granola is cool, toss with dried apples and cranberries.
Store in an airtight container.
Serves 18 (1/3 cup each).
