| 4 cups / 1 litre | large-flake oats |
| 1/4 cup / 50 ml | slivered almonds |
| 1/4 cup / 50 ml | sunflower seeds |
| 1/2 cup / 125 ml | unsweetened applesauce |
| 1/3 cup / 75 ml | honey |
| 2 tsp / 10 ml | cinnamon |
| 2 tsp / 10 ml | canola oil |
| 1/2 tsp / 2 ml | ground ginger |
| 1 cup / 250 ml | dried apples, chopped |
| 1/2 cup / 125 ml | dried cranberries or cherries |
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine oats, almonds and sunflower seeds.
In a separate bowl combine applesauce, honey, cinnamon, oil and ginger. Pour over oat mixture and mix well, until coated evenly.
Evenly spread mixture on a baking sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Gently shake pan; bake an additional 5 to 10 minutes or until dry.
When granola is cool, toss with dried apples and cranberries.
Store in an airtight container.
Serves 18 (1/3 cup each).
