10 cups / 2.5 L | popped popcorn, unsalted |
1 cup / 250 ml | Chow Mein noodles, optional |
1/2 cup / 125 ml | peanuts |
1/3 cup / 75 ml | peanut oil |
2 tbsp / 25 ml | soy sauce |
1 tsp / 5 ml | Chinese five-spice powder |
1/2 tsp / 2 ml | garlic powder |
1/2 tsp / 2 ml | salt |
1/2 tsp / 2 ml | ground ginger |
1/4 tsp / 1 ml | cayenne pepper |
1/8 tsp / 0.5 ml | granulated sugar |
Directions
Keep popcorn, noodles and peanuts warm.
Combine remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly. Slowly pour over popcorn mixture, tossing to blend.
Pour into a large roasting pan.
Heat in a 300F (150C) oven for 5 to 10 minutes, stirring once. 4. Let cool slightly before serving.
