Grilled Balsamic Portabello Mushrooms

Portabello mushrooms have a meaty texture and rich flavour, making them a tasty vegetarian alternative to a steak or a beef burger. I also like to add sliced grilled portabellos to a platter of mixed grilled vegetables. So easy and so  delicious.

Grilled Balsamic Portabello Mushrooms


Quantity Ingredients
4 Portabello mushrooms, washed and trimmed
1 tbsp / 15 ml olive oil
1 tbsp / 15 ml balsamic vinegar
1/4 tsp / 1 ml coarse sea salt
Finealy cracked black pepper, to taste


Preheat grill over medium heat.

In a bowl, toss mushrooms with olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper.

Place mushrooms on grill; cook for 4 to 5 minutes, turning once or twice, or mushrooms begin to brown.

Serves 4. Per grilled mushroom: 55 calories, 2 g protein, 4 g total fat (1 g saturated fat), 5 g carbohydrate, 1 g fibre, 0 mg cholesterol, 152 mg sodium
