|1/3 cup||coarsely ground uncooked kasha|
|1 1/2 cup||water|
|1/3 cup||long grain rice|
|2 tsp.||instant beef or chicken granules|
|1/2 tsp.||dried basil, crushed|
|2 tbsp.||snipped parsley|
- Cook onion in butter until tender, not brown.
- In a separate bowl, stir uncooked kasha and egg together. Add to butter and onion and stir until each grain is coated.
- Stir in water, rice, beef or chicken bouillon granules and basil. Bring to boil.
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer until tender, about 15 minutes. Stir in snipped parsley.
