Lemon Swiss Chard

Side Dishes.
Lemon juice really brings out the flavour of Swiss chard. To ehance the flavour, I sometimes add a grated lemon zest just before serving.

Lemon Swiss Chard


Quantity Ingredients
1 tsp / 5 ml canola oil
1 clove garlic, crushed
6 cups / 1.5 L Swiss chard, washed and trimmed
1 tbsp / 15 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/4 tsp / 1 ml coarse sea salt, or to taste
Amount freshly ground black pepper, to taste


In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add garlic; sauté for 1 minute.

Add Swiss chard; cover and steam for several minutes, until the chard is wilted.

Remove from heat, sprinkle with lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Serve warm.

Serves 4.
