Pennsylvania Red Cabbage

This is a fast, easy and delicious side dish. 

Pennsylvania Red Cabbage


Quantity Ingredients
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp vinegar
2 tbsp water
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1/4 tsp caraway seed
2 cups shredded red or green cabbage
3/4 cup coarsely chopped apple (1 small)


1. In a large skillet combine the brown sugar, vinegar, water, oil, caraway seed, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and dash pepper. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until hot, stirring occasionally. 2. Stir in the cabbage and apple. Cook, covered, over medium-low heat about 5 minutes or until cabbage is crisp-tender, stirring occasionally. Nutrition Information Per Serving: 90 calories, 5g total fat, 0mg cholesterol, 184mg sodium, 2g fibre.
