Sardine Burgers

This recipe is adapted from Norway's King Oscar sardines.

Sardine Burgers


Quantity Ingredients
2 tins (approx. 100g each) sardines in olive oil
1 tin sardines in tomato sauce
1 tsp salt
pinch pepper
wheat flour
1 onion, chopped
50 mL milk
1-2 eggs


1. Drain the oil-packed sardines and blot off the oil by placing on paper towels. Place in food processor. Add tomato-sauce-packed sardines to food processor and blend until finely chopped. 2. Add salt, pepper, onion and flour, as needeed, to processor and process until it forms a firm, not hard, dough. 3. Add milk and mix only for a few seconds. Add more flour if needed, so that dough can be shaped into patties. 4. Split the dough into 4 similar pieces. Work them into a round shape, and lightly squeeze them flat. 5. Fry in a non-stick pan on medium heat.
