Spicy Sesame Swiss Chard

Swiss chard has big green leaves and stalks that may be green, red, or yellow in colour. It's a versatile vegetable that can be added to soups, stir-fries, and casseroles or sautéed and enjoyed on its own. This recipe is simple to make and big on flavour.

Spicy Sesame Swiss Chard


Quantity Ingredients
2 tsp / 10 ml sesame oil
1 clove garlic, crushed
8 cups / 2 L Swiss chard, washed and trimmed
1/8 tsp / 0.5 ml red pepper flakes, or to taste
2 tsp / 10 ml toasted sesame seeds


Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic; sauté for 1 minute. Add Swiss chard; cover and sauté for 6 to 8 minutes or until chard is wilted and soft.

Remove from heat.

Remove from heat. Sprinkle with pepper flakes and sesame seeds.

Serves 4.
