Spicy Sesame Swiss Chard

Heart Healthy Foods for Life, Leslie's Featured Recipes, Side Dishes.
Swiss chard is an incredibly versatile vegetable - it can be sautéed or steamed, or added to soups, stir fries and smoothies. This is one of my favourite ways to enjoy locally grown Swiss Chard in the summertime.

Spicy Sesame Swiss Chard

Quantity Ingredients
2 tsp / 10 ml Sesame oil
1 clove garlic, chopped
8 cups / 1 L Swiss chard, washed and trimmed
1/8 tsp / 0.5 ml red pepper flakes, or to taste
2 tsp/ 10 ml toasted sesame seeds

Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat.  Add garlic and sauté for one minute.  Add Swiss chard; cover and saute for 6 to 8 minutes, or until chard is wilted and soft.

Remove from heat.  Sprinkle with pepper flakes and sesame seeds.
