Strawberry Almond Oat Bran Cereal

Make your own instant oatmeal with this quick and easy recipe.  Just mix the dry ingredients in advance and store it in a resealable container.  In the morning all you have to do is add the water, honey and strawberries and you're well on your way to a healthy breakfast that is low in cholesterol and high in fibre.

Strawberry Almond Oat Bran Cereal

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredients
1 cup water
1/2 cup oat bran
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp sliced almonds
1/2 cup sliced strawberries
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Directions

In a medium saucepan bring water to a boil. 

Add oat bran and simmer for 2 minutes, stirring until the oat bran is a smooth consistency. 

Remove from heat and stir in honey, almonds, strawberries and cinnamon. 

Serve immediately.

Serves 2.

Per serving (3/4 cup): 153 cal, 6 g pro, 6 g total fat (1 g saturated fat), 31 g carb, 5 g fibre, 0 mg chol, 7 mg sodium
