Whole Grain Soy Burgers

These burgers have a nutty, satisfying flavour.

Whole Grain Soy Burgers


Quantity Ingredients
1 can (15 oz.) cooked soybeans
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp dried oregano
3/4 tsp dried basil
2 tsp onion powder
1/2 cup oatmeal, uncooked
1/2 cup wheat germ


1. In a large bowl, mash soybeans with fork or potato masher. Mixture does not need to be smooth and completely mashed. 2. Add worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, garlic, oregano, basil, onion powder, oatmeal and wheat germ and mix until well blended. Divide into four balls and form each into a patty. 3. Cook in skillet coated with vegetable oil cooking spray until browned well on each side. (Mixture can also be made into meatballs and cooked in the oven.) 4. Serve on a whole grain bun with your favorite condiments. Nutrition Information per serving: 312 calories, 11g total fat, 1.5g saturated fat, 24g protein, 167mg sodium, 0mg cholesterol.
