New York Fries go trans fat-free

New York Fries, a chain of retail outlets specializing in the sale of fresh-cut fries, announced yesterday that they will offer the first fast food French fry without trans fat in Canada. By the end of March 2004, all locations will offer the trans fat free fries. They also say that the taste of New York Fries hasn't changed.

In response to growing health concerns and after months of testing, New York Fries found a way to remove trans fat. They did so by switching from a hydrogenated fat to a patented sunflower oil.
