Red and Black Fruit Salad

Luscious watermelon adds an unexpected crispness to a summer berry medley. For an all-red version, replace blackberries with more raspberries. 

Red and Black Fruit Salad


Quantity Ingredients
6 red plums
1 cup bottles red fruit nectar
Rind of 1 orange, cut in strips
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup blackberries
2 cups raspberries
1 cup cubed seeded watermelon


1. Halve and pit plums; quarter if large. Place, cut side down, in single layer in shallow microwaveable dish; pierce skins in several places. 2. Add fruit nectar and orange rind; sprinkle with sugar. Cover and microwave at Medium (50% power) for 5 minutes or until tender-firm, rotating dish halfway through. Do not overcook. 3. Add blackberries; cover and let stand until completely cool. Discard orange rind. Gently mix in raspberries and watermelon. Cover and refrigerate until chilled.
