Health Canada launches updated Canadian Nutrition File

Wondering how many calories are in that meal you just ate?

Look no further, Health Canada has launched an updated version of the Canadian Nutrient File - a comprehensive database with nutritional information of over 400,000 food items.

The database allows you to search by food or nutrient.  When searching by food, you can enter a food guide serving, or alternatively, you can choose your own serving size.

The updated database now allows you to search by nutrient as well, and obtain lists of the top sources of food for a specific nutrient.

There is also a handy reference guide that you can download with nutrient information of common foods.

Check it out the new Canadian Nutrient File here.
