Trans fat-free snacks available in Canada
More and more food companies are reformulating recipes to eliminate the heart unhealthy hydrogenated oils in their products. Last week the Campbell Soup Company launched its Pepperidge Farms Goldfish crackers minus the trans fat. This week Frito Lay Canada announced that it is eliminating trans fat from Canada\'s favourite chip brands - Doritos, Tostitos, and Sunchips - while still offering the same great taste. These products will join Frito Lay Canada\'s Lay\'s, Ruffles, Miss Vickie\'s, Fritos, Cheetos Crunchy, Rold Gold and Baked! products that are already made with non trans fat cooking oils.

To remove trans fat, the company will no longer use hydrogenated oils. Corn oil, a trans fat-free oil, will soon be used in the production of Doritos and Tostitos. Sunchips are now cooked in sunflower oil, a trans fat free-oil.
