Pomegranate Power Shake

Ground flaxseed adds a boost of fibre to this antioxidant-rich smoothie. If you prefer your smoothies on the thinner side, add ¼ cup (50 ml) skim milk or low-fat soy milk. Or, add a few ice cubes before you puree.

Pomegranate Power Shake


Quantity Ingredients
2 cups / 500 ml pure pomegrante juice
1 cup / 250 ml sliced strawberries
2 small bananas
2 tbsp / 25 ml ground flaxseed


In a blender, combine pomegranate juice, strawberries, banana, and flaxseed. Purée until smooth.

Serve cold.

Serves 2. Per 1 ½ cup (375 ml) serving: 313 cal, 3 g pro, 4 g total fat (1 g saturated fat), 71 g carb, 5 g fibre, 0 mg chol, 13 mg sodium
